Vanu’s In-building Solution (IBS) is based on small, low power nodes distributed within the enterprise to provide cellular coverage.  The base station uses existing enterprise Ethernet cabling, eliminating the time and cost of running new cabling in the enterprise to support wireless coverage.  The solution connects with any GSM core network through Vanu Inc.’s BSC and Packet Control Unit (PCU) which supports both traditional circuit switched interfaces as well as modern IP based soft switch architectures.


The IBS3 is the third generation in-building solution from Vanu Inc.  It is designed to support GSM bands 900/1800MHz or 850/1900MHz.  The IBS3 is enclosed in an aesthetic visually pleasing white enclosure that can be wall or ceiling mounted.  It is a sealed unit with just a single CAT5 Ethernet connection through the center mounting.  The IBS3 integrates the antenna and includes an compliant POE module for ease of deployment.  The overall product is lightweight and weighs under 700 grams.  The IBS3 supports an OCXO variant.  This offers annual calibration with 24/7 operation, ideal for critical services or where no viable Macro signal is available for timing synchronization.
